Rules & Netiquette.
Oh ! HEYYYYY !
It's time for Hannah's third (3rd) reflection.
The very first thing that happened in EDET class that morning was the way it was arranged. That probably sounds unimportant to you BUTTTT..
IT IS!!
We were arranged in the U-shape or Horse shoe style. This arrangement is great for whole class interaction, which is what we did that day.
Tip: Whenever you want everyone in your class involved together, Horse shoe style is the way to go.
We were then placed into clusters placed into clusters seating arrangement which is great for group work.
We were placed into groups of 5 and given the task to create our own classroom rules. Now when creating rules for the classroom it's very important to involve your students, after all the rules are for them.
Every group shared there rules and they were constructively criticised for necessary adjustments and of course credit was given where it was due.
On to the Netiquette side of things.
You're probably thinking; " What in the world is Netiquette? "
Netiquette my friend, speaks of the global public code of conduct.
We dug into Netiquettes when sending emails, here's a few to help you when you're sending out your own:
1. Ensure that you have an appropriate or a professional email.
2. Address appropriately with a greeting.
3. Always put a subject and ensure that the content is actually relative to the subject.
4. Ensure that you're using the correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
5. Add a signature.
I hope these helped !
Speaking of signature, most of us if not all didn't actually have one.
So we had to create our own.
This was mine:
" The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today. " - H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
I'm sure now that you've seen mine you're excited to create your own. I'm gonna give you the five (5) steps so you can create your very ow signature.
1. Go into your Gmail account and click settings.
2. Scroll down until you see the word signature.
3. Select signature.
4. Type in your signature. This could be your name and a quote or something encouraging.
5. Save your signature and we're done.
To sum up this reflection, always involve your students in things or decisions that affect them and Netiquette is always important when using the internet and sending emails.
